I have been diabetic with complications since 1977. Dr. Clifton is the only doctor that I have encountered who put me on the correct path to weight reduction and health management. Honestly, I was a bit skeptical about a plant-based diet and the doctor’s target weight for me. With her advice and guidance, I reduced my weight to well under what I weighed in high school and I only have a few pounds to go. Walking/hiking was also key to weight reduction and feeling good. On my last visit, my tests were so good that some medications were eliminated! Dr. Clifton asked me to come back for a followup visit in 3 months. I replied that I’m leaving for a driving/camping/hiking trip early May 2010 and will be gone until August. I feel great!

Since I’ve followed your advice on no dairy during the cold months I’ve been better off. I was feeling pretty cocky about my good behavior in February and made a nice big pot of mac-n-cheese; next day I was coughing and hacking because of congestion. So I have learned to listen to your advice even though I may be feeling better.

This is a great program
This is is a great program for anyone who seriously wants to change their unhealthy lifestyle. I learned life-long healthy eating habits from their nutritional sessions and the importance of incorporating a “doable” exercise program into my daily lifestyle, from the professionals at Rock Bottom Gym. The program has helped me lose weight (15 pounds in 12 weeks), reduce my cholesterol, blood sugar and blood pressure to normal ranges! It worked for me and will work for you too! P.S. My husband vicariously benefited from this program too!
easy with program
Your program was a wonderful opportunity for me to learn the good, the bad and the ugly about food and the effect it was having on my health. The program was easy in comparison to other diets because this is a permanent life style change. I did not find this difficult at all. I have tried several different diets and yo-yoed for several years. I believe what I have learned in your class will stay with me forever. I hate the word e-x-e-r-c-i-s-e. Since exercising at Rock Bottom Gym I have come to accept it and enjoy the benefits to my health. I have learned to exercise and strengthen my core without expensive machines. Most of what I learned, I can do anywhere and at anytime. I am off blood pressure medicine, I am not pre-diabetic and (for the first time) I am looking forward to my cholesterol numbers!
