Support Meatless Mondays in Traverse City
Sign our petition to officially declare Meatless Mondays in Traverse City.
My daughter became a vegetarian nearly four years ago, and I became a vegetarian to support her decision. We would like to support all children who are vegetarians/vegans, children who often have to deal with ignorant bullies (students, staff, and faculty) criticizing them for what they choose to eat. Meatless Mondays would be a good opportunity to support children who make ethical choices about what they consume.
Robert, you are the third person who has commented on the appeal to children. It is an easy thing to do, with a catchy title, that supports and defends a lot of different opinions and points of view. I appreciate the loving sentiment in your comment. Lucky daughter.
I support healthy eating but I do not support unfunded government mandates. A non-binding resolution is a step towards a “binding” resolution. Government’s role is not and was never intended to plan and dictate the menu’s of our country. Let’s not even go there. I’m sure you feel the regulations, pressures, and intrusion of big government in your medical practice. why would you want to force that on all of the fine eating establishments in Traverse City?
I don’t think there’s a slippery slope here. Sounds more like an effort to educate people on diet alternatives to help them make intelligent, informed choices in their diet choices.
